Wintjiri Gallery

Wintjiri Gallery & Museum is a key feature in the iconic Uluru resort at Yulara in the Northern Territory.
The Gallery and Museum was originally built in the mid 1980’s as part of the resorts development. After successfully operating for 35 years the buildings and the facilities were starting to show their age. The owner-operator Voyages, came to RDL to design and build a new fitout to suit their current needs and give the existing buildings a new lease on life.
Our design is a refreshed modern gallery that responds to is red centre context. The colours and plantings to the exterior give the sense of an oasis. While the interior materials and finishes have been carefully considered to create a neutral backdrop on which to display the vibrant works of the local Artists. The main gallery is a flexible multipurpose space that can accommodate a range of operations including functions, Artist residencies, curated tours and cultural learning. Contemporary multimedia displays are hidden in the bulkheads and the floorplan can be instantly reconfigured via the large custom movable display walls.

The Urban Smile Project

The Urban Smile Project

They run a number of specialist clinics across Melbourne and wanted to expand their business with an innovative concept store called The Urban Smile Project. This store operates as a standalone business, producing dental aligners. As a first point of contact customers can be referred to the other specialist services offered by the group.
The branding and design needed to reflect this larger business relationship, while allowing the new enterprise to stand out on its own. The site chosen for the concept store is a street facing shopfront on a very small footprint, using these constraints to full advantage our design team delivered a clean modern clinic that is welcoming and professional. As part pf the design process we developed their visual branding to complete the interior and exterior styling of this store. Branding includes a new logo, concept marketing graphics and even the name of the store.

Leon Cycles

Leon Cycles

Starting as an E-Commerce business based in Hanover, Leon Cycle established a wide service network with local bicycle shops throughout Europe, before opening its own brand stores.
In of January 2019, the company began, their journey into the Australian market. Preliminarily with a warehouse and e-commerce model, they soon realised the potential of a retail outlet here too. They approached RDL to produce the concept design for a shopfront capability to add to their warehouse operation. The design is industrial chic with plenty of authentic materials, the packing crate origins of the business is reimagined in an innovative, fun retail space. The “racetrack” is an important feature in the store as it winds its way through fixtures and displays, giving customers something to aim at on their first shot on their new bike.
